A survey of 838 young people in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia to inform a webradio launch. YouTube dominates, social media drives discovery, radio carries little weight.

The study was meant to inform a webradio project aimed at young people, by measuring their listening habits.

A quantitative study run as a freelancer, from questionnaire to results analysis.
04Approach
- Questionnaire run in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
- 838 respondents: 43% Algeria, 32.5% Morocco, 24.6% Tunisia; 58% women; 70.3% aged 20–30.
- Likert scales, reliability tests (Cronbach's alpha 0.909 and 0.721), factor analysis (KMO), ANOVA.

06Results
- YouTube is used by 90.1% of respondents, Spotify by 39.7%.
- 79.2% discover new music through social media, versus 28% through radio.
- 79.6% listen to radio or webradio for less than one hour a day.
- Radio listening frequency differs significantly by country and age (ANOVA, p < 0.05).
